Our ideal candidate is qualified but has no B1 German – must we reject her?
We assess her starting level and plan the B1 course: 160 lessons over 16 teaching weeks, without a guaranteed exam outcome.
Why this problem affects the company
The vacancy stays open even though the candidate has the right professional skills. Basic follow-up questions are difficult for her.
When professional skills are in place but German is missing at critical moments, HR needs more than a generic vocabulary course. The starting point is what the employee must understand, say and document during a real workday.
How our live intensive German course addresses it
We practice interviews, questions at work, listening comprehension and spoken B1 tasks live.
A complete B1 or B2 course comprises 160 units over 16 teaching weeks. Two 45-minute units each teaching day add up to ten units per week. This is a schedule, not a guarantee of passing an exam.
Your live German coach gives direct feedback. We emphasise listening, independent responses and realistic workplace discussions.
What your employee practises
- Listening: identify essential information in a normal workplace situation.
- Speaking: ask relevant questions and explain a task in your own words.
- Role play: handle a difficult conversation without reading a script.
- Transfer: repeat a comparable task and document the difference.

How to track language progress
She can describe a routine task and answer follow-up questions independently.
- Check the person’s starting level and the language required for the role.
- Practise typical discussions and listening situations during live lessons.
- Speak repeatedly in a group of up to six learners and receive immediate feedback.
- Retest a comparable real-life task to assess progress, without promising an automatic result.
Language training does not replace professional recognition procedures, required workplace safety training or external examinations.
